TUI has confirmed it will pay all extra holiday costs for brits if they end up catching Covid-19 abroad.
TUI have launched its Covid-19 cover to protect holidaymakers. They announced they will pay for medical tests, flights and extended hotel stays for brits if they catch Covid-19 while on holiday. The Covid-19 cover will be provided to every TUI traveller until 31st December, 2020. However, they have urged that this does not replace travel insurance, which TUI travellers are still urged to buy, although many still do not cover Coronavirus- Cancellations.
TUI explained how they will not charge their customers for:
- Overseas Covid-19 testing for suspected cases.
- Overseas medical assistance if a customer contracts Covid-19 while on holiday.
- Costs associated with an extended stay and a new return flight home if the customers are asked to self- isolate while on holiday.
- Dedicated 24/7 emergency hotline and app.
Andrew Flintham, Managing Director, TUI UK & Ireland said: ” Many of our customers have been waiting with eager anticipation to hear about whether they could go on holiday this summer, so we’re delighted that our first customers will depart this weekend. We’re done a lot of work to ensure we can take our customers on relaxing, enjoyable and most importantly safe holidays again and its really exciting to be able to offer our customers additional peace of mind when booking with us, with our new Covid-19 cover.
