Prep: 25 minutes, Cooking Time: 30 minutes, Sevres: 12 Candy Apples
INGREDIENTS:
- Candy thermometer
- 12 Apples (red or green)
- 12 Lollipop sticks
- 3 Cups of sugar
- 1/2 Tsp red food colouring
- 1 Cup of water
- 1/2 Cup light corn syrup
- Sprinkles optional
- Chocolate flakes optional

METHOD:
- Wash all your apples and make sure they are dry.
- Insert your lollipop sticks into the bottom of the apple and make sure they are firmly positioned.
- Set your apples on a lined baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a medium sized saucepan combine your corn syrup, sugar and water on a medium heat.
- once combined bring it to the boil until your thermometer reaches 300 degree fahrenheit.
- Once the syrup has reached 300, remove the candy mixture off the heat and gently stir in your red food colouring. (add more if needed)
- One by one dip your apples into the syrup, swirling them to coat them evenly and allowing any excess to drip back into the pan.
- Once your apple is coated evenly place them back onto your baking sheet.
- Add your sprinkles or chocolate flakes now to the apples.
- Now allow them to cool until your candy is hardened.
- Now you can enjoy your simple homemade halloween candy apples.
