Barclays Bank Now Offering Customers £2000

18th-November-2022

Barclays Bank are trying to help their customers by offering them £2000. Barclays will offer it to their residential mortgage customers who register and then make and pay for a selected home energy efficiency-related improvement.

Customers will be able to get air-source heat pumps, double or triple glazed windows, solar panels and home insulation as long as the improvement is completed by a TrustMark-registered business or tradesperson. It came after research found three-quarters of homeowners cannot afford to make energy efficient home improvements.

C.S. Venkatakrishnan, group chief executive officer at Barclays, said: “There is a clear need to improve the energy efficiency of UK housing, but as our data indicates costs remain a barrier to turning desire into action.”
“We hope this pilot will go some way towards encouraging consumers to make energy efficient related home improvements.”

On Barclays bank website it says: “We could help you with the cost of adding solar panels, insulation, a heat pump and much more. If you’ve got an existing Barclays mortgage and are interested in making such improvements, you may be eligible for our Greener Home Reward.”
“TrustMark is the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme that covers the work people choose to carry out in or around their home.”
“We recommend speaking to a ranger of TrustMark-registered businesses or tradespeople to find out more about the products they offer, where they come from, what the work involves and the cost and energy savings to expect. They may be able to help you choose the right home improvements for you. Make sure you do your own research and feel happy with your decision before going ahead with home improvements.”
